This is sheer absurdity! Where other sports in India are vying for essential facilities and amenities, leave alone attention and recognition, there is money spilling on the cricket field. The whole situation seems a laughing stock to me. Though its a tragedy.
The highest bid for Dhoni! People have surely lost their minds. That is the most illogical decision. And while there are even more unjustified things associated with this ludicrous scenario, I prefer to leave them on their own. Like I care! But my only concern lies with the media attention they are gaining. Already 3/4th (actually its even more) of the sports section in any newspaper is reserved for cricket while the other sports just get some 'honorable' mention here and there. The sport is already in the limelight, yet it will steal even the ray of light seen by other sportsmen.
Now what more are we in for? Launch of new channels like ESPN Cricket, Ten Sports Cricket, etc. that still wouldn't suffice to air the ICLs and IPLs. Well, I just hope they don't come up with lower division leagues in years to come. This much cricket is far enough.
P.S. The owner of the 'Mumbai Team' isn't a Marathi Manoos. Good that no ruckus was created.

You know tere's something wrong with that ! Darren Bent's 16 million quid now sounds very resonable.
